The Winning Scholarship

The Winning Scholarship is a $3,000 award presented annually in recognition of a BIPOC graduating student who intends to pursue post-secondary education and who has contributed in a significant way to their school and community. 

Her talent in this field will absolutely be an asset to the industry, as she plans to focus on breaking down stereotypical messaging in media communication.

One of Jeslyn's greatest and most significant contributions to her school is the work she has done to support the St. FX Black Voices Xavier Student Group. Jeslyn consistently steps up as the videographer and graphic designer for Black Voices Xavier. These are time consuming roles. She leads and creates all of the group Instagram posts, captures the spirt of all events, co-ordinates with our communication technology teacher and with students AND does this all while being involved in a co-op placement and maintaining a high academic average.

We are thrilled to Congratulate and wish Jeslyn our very best as she begins her studies this September!

We are excited to announce the 2022 WINNING SCHOLARSHIP recipient! Our 2022 winner is Alana Hyman; an honours graduate of St. Francis Xavier S.S. in Mississauga, Ontario.

Alana was accepted at The University of Waterloo, University of Ottawa and McMaster University.

Alana plans to study psychology and sociology with a focus on helping women in need. She hopes to become a clinical psychiatrist and specialize in women’s mental health and domestic violence recovery.

We are thrilled to Congratulate and wish Alana our very best as she begins her university studies this year!

Congratulations Janelle Gnoumou!

Our first 2021 winner is Janelle Gnoumou; an honours graduate of St. Francis Xavier S.S. in Mississauga, Ontario. Janelle was accepted at The University of Waterloo in their Chemical Engineering program.

We are thrilled to Congratulate and wish Janelle our very best as she begins her university studies this September!

Congratulations Kyra Poulin!

We are excited to announce the ✨2nd✨ 2021 WINNING SCHOLARSHIP recipient! Our second 2021 winner is Kyra Poulin.

Kyra will be pursuing a diploma in Criminology at Seneca College this September. Kyra has successfully balanced her academics, three part time jobs and involvement in her school community all while being been an incredible support to her family.

We are thrilled to Congratulate and wish Kyra our very best as she begins her collegiate studies this September!

Taejah is a dedicated student at St. Francis Xavier S.S. in Mississauga who is graduating with 90+ average. She is also a dedicated volunteer within her school community as well as at her local food bank.

Taejah was a Valedictorian nominee this year and will be pursuing a nursing degree at McMaster University.

She is kind, generous and has a great desire to help others.
